PRESENT SIMPLE QUESTIONS

The Czech students in their English class learnt to write survey questions. They worked in teams of 3-4, each team chose a topic (e.g. colours or travelling) and asked a set of questions that were later in the IT class made into a Google form survey. After that they asked their partners to answer them, which they did and the Czech students wrote the summaries. The findings were quite interesting and it was a good practice of both the language and ICT skills.

BE GOING TO + PRESENT PERFECT TENSE

December is usually the month when we get ready for Christmas which includes buying presents, cleaning the house or flat etc. We were interested how are partners are preparing for the charming holidays and so we used the wiki pages of the twinspace and shared  information about the presents for the mums, dads and siblings, about the house / flat decorations, about the Christmas traditions. At the same time we practised first “BE GOING TO”  and then the Present Perfect tense that we learnt right at that time in our English course books. We also remembered to make the Christmas cards in our art class and write them and send them to our pals. It is always nice to get some traditional “paper” cards at Christmas, even now in the time of emails, isn´t it?

PAST TENSE SIMPLE + CONTINUOUS

Winter has always been the time when people used to get together and tell stories. We also decided to cooperate and write some winter stories together. The Polish students started them and both the Czech and French students wrote their endings. This way we created a nice collection of really original winter stories, some of them romantic, or even nostalgic, some of them funny, some of them scary … The whole collection was then made into an electronic book using www.calameo.com. Please, find them on the following page. We hope that you will enjoy reading them as much as we enjoyed writing them.

HALLOWEEN

Before Halloween, the Czech students wrote a short text to accompany selected Clipart pictures and made a simple exercise for their yourger peers. Probably, it is not as easy to complete the text as you might suppose.... so you can try on your own and see if you manage to do it 100 per cent right.
